Vol. XII · Precision Cardiology

The quiet practice
of cardiology.

a steady hand, a longer view.

A board-certified cardiology practice founded on the belief that good cardiac care is unhurried. Same-day imaging when needed, nothing rushed when it isn't, and one physician who knows your story over the long arc of decades.

N°ii. · Capabilities

Every cardiac modality, practiced patiently.

From a 30-minute consultation to complex interventional work, Helix is a fully equipped cardiology center. We move quickly when the data says to, and slowly when it doesn't.

N°ii.a

Diagnostic imaging

Cardiac MRI, CT calcium scoring, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, and same-day stress imaging — read by our own faculty cardiologists rather than outsourced to a remote service.

  • Cardiac MRI & CT angiography
  • 4D echocardiography
  • Coronary calcium scoring
  • Stress imaging, in-house
N°ii.b

Interventional & structural

Same-day diagnostic and interventional catheterization in a fully accredited lab. Our radial-first protocol allows most patients to be discharged within four hours of the procedure.

  • Cardiac catheterization, radial-first
  • TAVR, MitraClip, LAA closure
  • Coronary intervention
  • Same-day discharge protocol
N°ii.c

Electrophysiology & rhythm

3D mapping for atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular arrhythmias. Cryoablation and RF ablation with same-week scheduling and a dedicated EP nurse navigator for every patient.

  • Atrial fibrillation ablation
  • Cryo- & RF ablation
  • Loop recorder & pacemaker
  • Holter & event monitoring
N°ii.d

Preventive cardiology

The most consequential cardiac visit is often the one before any symptom appears. We stratify risk decades in advance using ApoB, Lp(a), and CT calcium — and we treat early enough for it to matter.

  • ApoB & advanced lipidology
  • Lp(a), genetic risk panels
  • Coronary calcium screening
  • Long-term risk modeling
N°iii. · The Practice

Cardiology at the resolution of a relationship.

Helix was founded the year I retired from a department of seventeen cardiologists, after twenty-eight years and roughly forty-thousand procedures. I had become a very good interventional cardiologist and an increasingly mediocre physician — and I knew which one of those mattered to my patients.

Helix is what happens when you give a small group of distinguished cardiologists back the time to be doctors. Forty patients per physician. Same-day imaging when it's actually indicated. The same person reading your scan, performing your procedure, and calling you with the result.

Good cardiology is mostly the patience to be sure.

N°iv. · Physicians

A faculty-trained cardiology collective.

Every Helix physician is fellowship-trained in invasive, interventional, or electrophysiology. We are deliberately small, with appointments at academic medical centers nationally.

After my CAC came back at 412, Dr. Reyes spent ninety minutes with me. Most cardiologists hand you a statin and a wave; Helix handed me a strategy — and seven years later, I'm still on it.

N°v. · Your first consultation

Sixty minutes, start to plan.

You will not be handed off. The physician who takes your history is the one who reads your echo, reviews your labs, and calls you afterward.

i.

Before you arrive

We request your prior records, imaging and lab work in advance, so the visit begins with what we already know rather than what you can remember.

Records · 48 hrs before
ii.

The conversation

A full hour with your cardiologist: history, family history, symptoms and the questions you have been meaning to ask. Nobody is watching a clock.

In person · 60 min
iii.

Same-day testing

A resting ECG is part of every first visit. When an echocardiogram or calcium score is indicated, it is done that day, down the hall, and read by the same physician.

ECG · Echo · CT if needed
iv.

A written plan

You leave with a one-page summary in plain language: what we found, what we are watching, and what happens next. Your physician calls when results return.
