Psychiatry for adults & adolescents

Somewhere the noise can settle.

Stillwater is a small psychiatry practice built around unhurried appointments, careful prescribing, and a clinician who remembers what you told them last time.

Conditions we treat

Most people arrive carrying more than one thing. We look at the whole picture — sleep, work, relationships, history — not just the name on the referral.

01

Anxiety Disorders

Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, and phobias treated with therapy and, when appropriate, medication.

02

Depression

Major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, and situational depression addressed with personalized treatment plans.

03

ADHD

Careful evaluation for adults and adolescents, including the many who were missed earlier, and management that fits a real life.

04

PTSD

Trauma-informed care at a pace you set. You will never be asked to tell more of the story than you are ready to.

05

Bipolar Disorder

Mood stabilization and long-term management strategies for bipolar I and bipolar II disorder.

06

OCD

Specialized treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder combining medication management with behavioral strategies.

07

Insomnia

Evaluation and treatment of chronic sleep difficulties, including cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).

08

Grief & Loss

Supportive care for those navigating bereavement, complicated grief, and major life transitions.

How we work

Good psychiatry is mostly listening. We keep our caseload small so appointments can be long, decisions can be slow when they should be, and no one feels like a slot on a calendar.

Longer appointments

Sixty minutes for a first visit, thirty for follow-ups. Enough time to actually talk.

Careful prescribing

The lowest dose that works, changed one thing at a time, always with your say.

Therapy and medication, together

Some people need one, some need both. We offer both, and we will tell you honestly which we think you need.

Start with a free 15-minute call.

No intake forms, no commitment, no hard sell. It is simply a chance to say what has been going on and hear, plainly, whether Stillwater is a good fit. If we are not the right place, we will tell you so and point you toward someone who is.

On the call, we will cover

  • i.What brought you here, in as much or as little detail as you like
  • ii.Whether medication, therapy, or both makes sense to explore
  • iii.Fees, insurance, and what a first visit actually looks like
Pick a time Phone or video · weekday mornings and evenings
Usually within two business days

Video visits, if that is easier.

Some weeks it is hard to get anywhere. Every appointment we offer is also available by secure video — the same length, the same clinician — from wherever you happen to be.

What to expect

Nothing here is rushed. This is how the first few weeks usually go.

1

The call

A free 15-minute conversation to see whether we are a good fit. No paperwork yet, and no obligation afterwards.

2

Intake

A short, confidential questionnaire so your first visit can start with the substance rather than the logistics.

3

First visit

Sixty minutes. Mostly you talking and us listening, and by the end, a plan the two of you have written together.

4

Ongoing care

Follow-ups every few weeks at first, then as often as helps. Between visits you can reach us through the portal.
