Therapy and psychiatry that fits your actual life.

Tandem is online mental health care for people 18–30. ADHD, anxiety, depression — with a psychiatrist and a therapist who work as a team, video visits that fit between classes or shifts, and a real human to text between them.

Care, not a portal

Everything in one place. Two people in your corner.

Every Tandem patient gets a psychiatric prescriber and a therapist who share one chart and actually talk to each other. No re-explaining your story.

Medication management, done carefully

Evidence-based prescribing for ADHD, anxiety and depression. Start low, adjust often, and message your prescriber between visits when something feels off — you won’t wait a month to fix a side effect.

Therapy that gives you tools

CBT, ACT and skills-based sessions — 45 minutes, weekly or biweekly.

ADHD evaluation

A proper 90-minute assessment, not a checklist.

Text between visits

Real replies from your actual clinician, usually within one business day.

Evenings & weekends

Video visits from 7 am to 9 pm, plus Saturday mornings. Reschedule in the app, no phone tag.

A fit call, not a sales call

Talk to a care coordinator (a human, in Austin) about what’s going on. We’ll tell you honestly whether Tandem is the right fit and check your insurance while you’re on the line.

Your first visit, on video

A 60-minute intake with your prescriber or therapist — whichever you need first. You’ll leave with a working diagnosis, a plan, and next steps written down in your app.

Care that keeps up with you

Follow-ups every 2–4 weeks, texting in between, refills sent to whichever pharmacy is nearest this semester. Moving states for a job? We’re probably licensed there.

Meet your care team

Small team. You’ll know everyone’s name.

Eleven clinicians, all of whom chose to work with young adults on purpose. Here are the four you’re most likely to meet first.

Dr. Priya Raman, MD

Psychiatrist · Co-founder

Trained at Baylor and UT Dell Med. Spent five years in college counseling before starting Tandem because “a six-week waitlist is not a plan.”

ADHDMed management

Marcus Lee, LCSW

Therapist · Co-founder

CBT and ACT, with a soft spot for first-gen students and anyone whose “fine” is doing a lot of work. Former resident advisor; still remembers finals week.

AnxietyACT

Sofia Alvarez, PMHNP

Psychiatric nurse practitioner

Bilingual (English/Spanish). Especially good with the “I started meds and now I feel weird” conversation — she wants that text.

DepressionEspañol

Jun Park, LPC

Therapist

Works with OCD, panic and perfectionism. Runs our Tuesday-night skills group for early-career folks who are technically succeeding and quietly miserable.

Why Tandem exists

We built the clinic we wished existed at 22.

“Priya kept seeing students who’d finally worked up the courage to ask for help — and got a waitlist. I kept seeing therapy clients whose prescriber they’d never spoken to me once. Tandem was our answer: one team, one plan, and a way to reach us that isn’t a voicemail.”

Questions

The stuff people actually ask on the fit call.

Still wondering?

Text us at (512) 555-0142. A coordinator — not a bot — replies weekdays 8–6.

Can you prescribe stimulants for ADHD over video?+
Usually, yes. In all 12 of our states we can prescribe controlled medications after a video evaluation, with a few state-specific rules (some require one in-person visit per year, which we can arrange through a partner clinic). We’ll tell you exactly what applies to you on the fit call — and we’ll always start with a full assessment first.
Do I need to already have a diagnosis?+
No. Most people come to us with a suspicion, not a diagnosis. Our intake is designed to sort out what’s actually going on — ADHD, anxiety and depression overlap a lot, and getting it right changes what we recommend.
Which states are you licensed in?+
Texas, California, New York, Florida, Illinois, Colorado, Georgia, North Carolina, Washington, Arizona, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. You need to be physically in one of those states during visits. Going home for the summer to a different state? Tell us and we’ll plan around it.
Will my parents or my school find out?+
Not from us. You’re an adult and your care is confidential. If you’re on a parent’s insurance, the insurer may send them an Explanation of Benefits — we’ll explain what that shows and how to request confidential communications, or you can self-pay.
What if I’m in crisis?+
Tandem isn’t an emergency service, and texting isn’t monitored 24/7. If you’re in danger right now, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest ER. We’ll pick things up with you afterward — that’s not a strike against you.
How fast can I actually be seen?+
Fit calls are usually same or next day. First clinical visits average 4–5 days out, and evenings fill first — if you can do a weekday morning, it’s often sooner.

  • You’ll get a first-visit date before you hang up
  • Nothing goes in a chart until you say so
